Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure which is performed to increase the size and/or equalize the shape of the breasts.
How is breast augmentation performed?
Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and usually takes 1 to 2 hours. Breast implants are used during the surgery. The breast implant is put in through a single cut. The cut will be made below your breast, under your arm or around the nipples.
Before the surgery
Before giving surgery decision you are advised to talk with your plastic surgeon about your expectations. Since the surgery could not prevent sagging we suggest you to have a realistic approach. Also, we could not have lifetime guarantee for breast implants and after the surgery you are advised regular control examinations.
Before the surgery your doctor may have some recommendations such as quitting smoking and some medications which contain aspirin. It is very important to follow these recommendations.
After the surgery
After the surgery you might have a mild pain and swellings. You may stay one night in the hospital after the surgery. Recovery period usually takes one week and during this period you are recommended to avoid heavy activities. Before start doing daily activities you are advised to take your doctors confirmation.
